Making IDEEC impact in Portugal

On Saturday 13th April 2024, our Erasmus+ project “Impact Driven Entrepreneurship for Children” was presented at the Festival of the European New Bauhaus. Specifically, in the satellite event held in Beira-Marvao (Portugal), registered under the themes of Youth Empowerment and Learning Ecosystems.

Throughout the day, new tools for the promotion of social entrepreneurship were presented in the framework of the EFES project, a transnational project within the POCTEP funding line. In this part, all participants were able tolearn about new processes for the creation of projects in rural areas with social and environmental impact.

In the second part of the day, participation focused on the educational field with the +12 Design Lab activity. At this point, the IDEEC project team members presented the work of the consortium and the development of the work packages up to the framework prototype. This product was very well accepted by the participants. It represents a resource that can favour the work by competences in the Community and Rural School Project that “Planeta Alecrim AssociaƇao” has in the locality of Beira-Marvao. In fact, some children from the school showed some of the topics they are researching in the form of a project presentation.

We also had the opportunity to learn about the work developed by DEAL -Schools and Education Lead- with its representative Carolina Escobar-Tello, who presented the drafts they are working on to promote the theory of Doughnut Economics in schools.

Finally, all the participants, divided into working groups, were able to reflect on two proposed themes. How to promote the competence of autonomy and responsibility in students, and how to deal with the opening of projects to the outside world of projects emerging in rural areas.

Many thanks to the organisation. It was a great opportunity to increase the community and the possible alliances of the IDEEC project.
