Our Erasmus+ project, “Impact Driven Entrepreneurship for Children,” took center stage at the Festival of the European New Bauhaus. Specifically, our initiative was showcased at the satellite event hosted in Beira-Marvao, Portugal, on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. The event was themed around Youth Empowerment and Learning Ecosystems. You can find more details about the event here.
Throughout the day, attendees were introduced to innovative tools aimed at promoting social entrepreneurship, within the framework of the EFES project, a transnational endeavor funded by POCTEP. This segment provided insights into novel processes for initiating projects in rural areas with a focus on social and environmental impact.
The latter part of the day was dedicated to activities within the educational sphere, featuring the +12 Design Lab. Here, the IDEEC project had the opportunity to showcase the collaborative efforts of the consortium and the progress made in various work packages leading up to the framework prototype. The prototype garnered significant interest, particularly for its potential to support competency-based learning within the Community and Rural School Project conducted by “Planeta Alecrim AssociaĆao” in Beira-Marvao. Notably, students from the local school demonstrated their ongoing research projects during this session.
Additionally, attendees had the privilege of learning about the initiatives spearheaded by DEAL (Schools and Education Lead), presented by their representative, Carolina Escobar-Tello. Carolina outlined their endeavors to integrate Doughnot Economics theory into school curricula, sharing draft proposals and insights.
The event culminated in group discussions, where participants deliberated on two key themes: fostering student autonomy and responsibility, and navigating the integration of emerging rural projects with the wider community.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers for facilitating this enriching opportunity, which has not only expanded the reach of the IDEEC project but also fostered potential collaborations and community engagement.
